SGMW Company Profile
SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW) is a joint venture between SAIC Motor Co. Ltd (50.1%), GM China (44%), and Guangxi Automobile Group Co. Ltd (5.9%). We are the first Sino-foreign joint venture established during the mixed-ownership reform of China’s state-owned enterprises. Our origins can be traced back to the Liuzhou Power Machinery Plant, founded in 1958.

In terms of manufacturing, SGMW operates four major bases in China: the Liuzhou Hexi headquarters, the Liuzhou Baojun base, the Qingdao branch, and the Chongqing branch. We have built a production framework that integrates and connects the eastern, western, southern, and northern regions. In addition, we have 2,800 sales outlets across China, covering 98% of prefecture-level cities and 79% of county-level cities, making our coverage network the most extensive in the industry.
